The Arc wearable device is the VIT Initiative’s flagship product. When I joined the company, the wearable devices was a bulky, 3d printed box. Users did not like it’s feel, it did not fit under clothing, and users were afraid that companies would use the device to spy on conversations.
I handled the redesign of the Arc housing, partnering with our VP of engineering to ensure that the product could adequately house and protect the boards and sensors. In my design efforts, I focused on improving the usability and robustness of the device, while making it eye-catching for sales presentation and marketing purposes.
I designed the product from concept to prototyping through final production via injection molding.
